Summer Meals Return in Partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository

The summer can be a challenging time of year when students have limited or no access to food through their school or at home. To help combat food insecurity, the Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library will continue its partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository this summer to provide free lunches for kids 18 & younger.

Free lunches will be available at the Library Monday through Friday between 12 and 1 p.m. The nutritious lunches typically consist of a sandwich, fruit, and milk, and recipients can choose to eat their lunch in the Library Classroom or outside on the Plaza. The Library will begin providing free lunches courtesy of the Greater Chicago Food Depository starting Monday, June 9 and ending Friday, August 15. Lunches will be unavailable on June 19 due to the federal holiday and on July 4 due to the holiday closure of the Library.

Summer Meals at the Library for Free, Monday to Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. from June 9th to August 15th. Available for all youth 18 and under.
